How do I remove the washer fom my shower head?

Maintenance & Repairs
Otonita asked:

I’ve heard that many people now hack their showers — or customize them, to increase water-flow. I know that you can take your shower head down, pull the washer out with a screwdriver, and remove the offending intrusion that is restricting water flow. BUT – I can’t find anything to remove? what am I looking for exactly? Is the washer the black rubber circle where you screw the pieces together?

I’m wanting to put in one that can be either hand-held or put into a bracket and used like a regular shower head. Anyone have tips or suggestions?

What causes a shower head to whistle?

Maintenance & Repairs
Chrissy asked:

I took the shower head off the other day, because the water pressure had suddenly become weak. So I soaked it in vinegar. The water pressure is back to what it was, but now it whistles very loudly & it’s really obnoxious. What happened?

Is there a shower head with a independent shut off valve?

I have a little leak in my shower and i don’t really want to take the whole thing apart. Is there some type of shower head that lets you shut off water from the head, possibly one with the removable heads on the hose?

I have a brand new shower head, but not much water pressure what to do?

Maintenance & Repairs
Raj G asked:

I tried 3 different new shower heads made by Moen and 1 by Delta (which was taken down from one of the upper level showers to test). None better than other interms of water pressure. This shower is in lower level, about 15 ft from the water heater. Upper level shower heads gives ample pressure. I checked the pipes (1/2″) no evidence of clogg. Found a built in filter those shower head does it causes the problem?

How do I change the water pressure between my shower head and sink faucet in my bathroom?

Do It Yourself (DIY)
Ben Dover asked:

I recently had a handyman come in and fix the pressure between my shower head and sink faucet in my bathroom. At first, the shower head had little pressure and the sink had a lot. After the fix, the sink has little pressure and the shower has too much pressure. How do I go about re-balancing the pressure and fix this myself?

Leaky shower head. What can i do before calling a plumber?

Maintenance & Repairs
Lil Miss Answershine asked:

I have a pollenex shower head (part of the two head system – one head and one wand type). It developed a slow leak that seams to be getting stronger. Sometimes it slows down when i turn the nob super tight but increases sometimes when water is turned on elsewhere in the house.

Is there anything that i can do about this before i call a plumber? If it is a simple fix, I would hate to spend the money before christmas.

Is there an easy way to change a shower head?

Do It Yourself (DIY)
court asked:

I just bought a new shower head (our old one is gross)-But it requires that you take the arm of the shower off. It has a ball head sprayer (?) that doesn’t fit into the one that’s already in there. I’ve looked everywhere on the net to find an easy way other than shear elbow grease-but can’t find anything? Any suggestions would be much appreciated…short of hiring a professional plumber (don’t have the $ for just for a stupid shower head)

What can I do about a leak in the arm part of the shower head?

Maintenance & Repairs
crocojak asked:

The part of the shower head that goes between the head and the wall (the arm?) has a small hole in it that water sprays out of up to the ceiling. Can I fix this with a spot of caulking, or gorilla glue or something? Or do I need to buy a whole new shower head setup? I’m not much of a handyman so keep it simple!
